Solve The Month Long Crochet Mystery

Crochet Mystery AdventurePut on your crochet sleuth hats. Try our very first crochet mystery project.

Starting Tuesday, April 1st at 2pm Eastern Standard Time, The Crochet Crowd Mystery Challenge kicks off. This is a brand new concept for The Crochet Crowd. Frankly, I am really excited about it as the creativity of our followers is unlimited. The mystery provides barriers that ensure the creative side of your brain kicks into swing.

This adventure is so new, it didn't take much convincing to ask Red Heart Yarns and Stitch & Unwind if they wanted to give crocheters an opportunity within their own communities to follow along.

Charity and Live Group Map LocatorNew to The Crochet Crowd is the Map Locator

Cathy, Diva Dan and I are very community oriented. We receive many requests from crocheters to help locate charities and/or live crochet groups all over the world.

Many times, it doesn't make sense to mail donations across the country where there could be a charity in your backyard. We are asking for your help to populate our map. We are asking charities and/or members of established crochet groups to come forward with information so we can list them on our map.

Find out how to get listed and the criteria to be on this map. View our map to find locations near you.

Never Ending Granny Afghans by MikeyMikey's very first free pattern e-book was called Never Ending Granny Afghans.

In Mikey's teenage years, he struggled with slip stitching and decided that his granny squares would be the entire afghan. To create different colours, he used several yarns at the same time working his afghans into a large spiral.

Mikey figured out how to make 1 Strand, 3 Strand, 5 Strand and 7 Strand Afghans using this concept. This is a free 43 page e-book filled with photos, pattern and tips.

Michael Sellick, The Crochet Crowd

Our emails from crocheters can get very backed up with requests for information, help and other requests. Everyone is equally important for us to get back to, please give us time to get back to you. While we try to get back to every request, regretfully, we do not guarantee that every email will be responded to.

Emails pertaining to our giveaways and challenges take priority due to the deadlines associated to running them. The rest of the emails are squeezed between our programming and content creation to keep The Crochet Crowd running.

Please be patient and allow us the time to respond.

Crochet Savvy MagazineThe Crochet Crowd Featured in Magazines & eBooks

In February 2014, Michael Sellick, aka Mikey from The Crochet Crowd, received the honours of being on the front cover of Crochet Savvy Magazine.

This magazine edition was featuring Men in the crochet industry that is dominated by women. Mikey was asked a number of questions, including personal questions about his thoughts of being a minority in the crafting industry. You may be surprised by some of his thoughts because he has a unique perspective.

Even better, this magazine is free to get. You can view this magazine by using this direct link to Crochet Savvy Magazine.

Vogue Crochet Limited Edition

In 2011, Michael Sellick was also selected for a feature article in VOGUEknitting Crochet Edition. VOGUE only runs one crochet edition each year. Michael was selected for a mini article featuring his creativity and quick thoughts pertaining to himself running The Crochet Crowd. This is the first magazine that Mikey was ever featured in.

You can get the back dated issue at Jimmy Beans Wool and/or download an electronic version through selected resources. Look for this magazine cover to know it's the right addition.

A Needle Pulling Thread Magazine

Summer 2013 Edition of A Needle Pulling Thread Magazine, Mikey and nearly 600 Crochet Crowders were featured in a multiple page feature. Editor-in-Chief, Carlo Canonico was really impressed with our feature of Octagon & Squares Afghan Challenge. It was the first ever large scale crochet challenge that was run in January 2013. So impressed, she approached Mikey to agree to feature most of the photos that were submitted by crocheters from around the world.

The free pattern for the Octagon & Squares Throw was also included for those who were inspired by the 100's of photos that were in this edition. Get this back issue at A Needle Pulling Thread Website.

TiersAdvertising

Advertising Opportunites on The Crochet Crowd

The Crochet Crowd has advertising opportunities to gain exposure for your business. We have several ways to gain exposure that each advertiser has an opportunity to use. We have space right here on The Crochet Crowd Website, as well as our Newsletters. Advertising space is purchased by the month with no minimum contracts. Most of the advertisers have a reserved spot for an indefinite time frame. There may be a waiting list at the time of your inquiry.

Currently, there is a waiting list for advertisers waiting for a space to free up on The Crochet Crowd.

As expected, the higher an ad in a website page, the more exposure and clicks will occur. Our price breakdown is based on real numbers and professional evaluation due to the strength of our website and newsletters engagement from our fans.

For legal reasons, we do not sell links through YouTube Descriptions or to be inserted as a graphic into our videos.

With most advertisements, most graphics are just a picture where a user is intended on clicking. In our newsletters, we have been doing write ups with fun little sayings to help the click. Our website is priced based on location of the ad.

To put our numbers into perspective:

  • We have on average 200,000 unique visitors to our website each month. This translates between 750,000 - 1 Million Page Views. Depending on the tier level, ads will appear on these pages to capture attention for your ad.
  • We provide social media some of our advertisers depending on the level of tier that they are at. We are striving to keep our Facebook clear of ads and social media doesn't include shout outs that include purchasing or signing up for other Facebook pages.
  • Our newsletter has a substantial open rate of 37 - 41% with a click through rate of 39 - 41%. Our newsletter is dedicated to a quality 1 edition each week. On occassion we run special editions that select advertisers can get in on.
  • The newsletter list by The Crochet Crowd is not for sale, rent or exchange. If working with The Crochet Crowd, names we have on file remain our property and will not be shared. We strive to protect our community's privacy.

Please contact Mikey directly for more information on recent statistics and numbers. The growth rate of The Crochet Crowd is exponential and change signicifantly from week to week.

Plane Tickets Recommendation

Southwest Airlines LogoFor those travelling to our Crochet Cruises in Miami and Los Angeles locations, I would like to highly recommend Southwest Airlines. No, this isn't a sponsorship deal or anything like that. Like all of our guests, Daniel and I are paying our own way on board Carnival Cruise Lines and, of course, our own airfare.

In a referral by my Dad, he strongly recommended Southwest Airlines for incredible savings. Daniel and I have to fly to 3 locations during our Crochet Cruises. Booking early right now will allow you to access the WEB ONLY Deals where the airfares are extremely cheap. All 3 locations for us, for 2 people only cost us $1050. It was unbelieveable. 1 Person from Buffalo New York to Miami was only $135 plus tax.
