Learn How To Use A Ball Winder
Ballwinder

See Many Different Yarn Ball Brands in Mikey's Online Store.

The brand I am using in this demonstration is called Royal. I paid about $60 Canadian for this item. I have come to learn through many viewers on Facebook that the price you pay is equivalent to the quality received. Truthfully speaking, I've not heard a lot of positive reviews for the electronic versions of these.

I have to admit I am addicted to winding up my scrap yarn balls to a more usable size and easier storage. It is unbelieveable how fast you can wind up the yarn balls.

I find the mechanism, as you will see in the video demonstration below that it is smooth and quiet. This is perfect for being able to watch TV without having to turn up the TV over the sound of the winder.

I wish I would have bought one of these a long time ago. If you are looking to buy one online, try my online store winder's department for lots of different choices.

USA Verses European Crochet Language ConversionCrochet is a global activity enjoyed by millions of people around the world. Some patterns we encounter have different language associated to the patterns. When I started teaching crochet online, I was using European Based knowledge for crochet. I was emailed constantly telling me that I was wrong with my words and to get off the net if I wasn't going to teach right. I wasn't wrong... my audience wasn't aware there was a global difference of terms.

Granny Square: Crochet

How to Dicipher A Granny Square

In this Untangle Video, Mikey will be talking about two ways to start a granny afghan that is commonly seen in pattern books. He explains the differences. Granny squares are commonly well known and most crocheters do this particular concept. It is easy and fun once you got the hang of it. Over time, this type of project is mindless and a great project to do without burning too many brain cells.

Once you get the concept, you can use this concept seen in our Afghans Free Patterns Gallery.

This tutorial is great for new crocheters but seasoned crocheters may learn something new in the process.

Crochet Embellishments Tips

One to the biggest hot buttons between Diva Dan and I is deciphering when a project is done. It really gets on my nerves that he has an ability to push a project from great to extraordinary through adding a few minor things that were added.

If you ever notice on Facebook and Pinterest that people who tend to be shared the most are the ones that go that extra step.

If you click read more, I will show you an up close view of this flower scarf by Diva Dan and talk about more ideas for embellishing your crochet.
