For the love of Granny Square Stitching but made into an oval shape for the ultimate Thick Holiday Ornament Blanket Pattern.

Using Bernat Blanket in assorted playful, cheery colours, this blanket has thirty two complete motifs and eight half motifs for the edges.

The final round of each motif requires you to place a stitch marker so you can easily line these up when you are reading to put them together. You may want to bow tie the marked stitches together to make it easier as well.

For a cohesive look, the colours aren't random but there's no rule book saying you cannot but it probably will change the yarn quantities if you do that. It's up to you.

For sure> It means they want you to evenly space the single crochet along the flat edge that is on the outside of the blanket.

Cont across side of rows at base of Motif as follows: 2 sc in side of 3rd row, 2 sc in side of 2nd row, 3 sc in side of 1st row. 2 sc in center of 1st row. 3 sc in side of 1st row, 2 sc in side of 2nd row and 2 sc in side of 3rd row. Join with sl st to beg ch-2. Fasten off.

While the pattern shows there is a border, the half motif is creating the border look by going across the flat side.
